The Casa Rosa Quilt

Presents for the soon-to-be born Elis from the Casa Rosa gang!
Note my teary eyes...
Maybe I've shared this with you before, but if I haven't, I thought you might enjoy it now....from my diary on February 14th, 2000. (2000! It can't really be eight years since the Casa Rosa was still pink and we lived with the best roommates in the world!)
*a small ode to La Casa Rosa*
i can't imagine a time when i will not come home to La Casa Rosa - not coast down 23rd, drag my bike over the grass, enter the warmth of the house and call hello. hang my bike up and chat with Chee and climb the stairs to see who's cooking or conversing in the kitchen. this place is home, in every sense of the word.
i feel privileged to live with this eclectic collection of warm (that word again: it seems to apply to every facet of life alla Casa), intelligent (again, in every sense of the word), vibrant, caring, wonderful people. i value our spontaneous debates, chaotic meal preparation, bike rides, and "family dinners" more than anything.
(After that I go on to recount discussions with Steph and Chee about world affairs and personal morals....won't bore you with the details....)
I will post photos of Elis enjoying her amazingly wonderful (love the colourful sun-snow-paisley-CBC Radio-bike goddess theme, by the way!) new quilt as soon as I can....since it's 40 below right now, she will definitely appreciate it!
Grazie mille!!!!
